What is the Full Form of CNG ?

CNG - Compressed Natural Gas

Compressed Natural Gas is a substitute for petrol, diesel or LPG and is more environment friendly than these products. As far as the safety of its use is concerned, CNG is much safer than other fuels as it is lighter than air, and disperses quickly when released.

Advantages of CNG

  • The vehicles operating on Compressed Natural Gas has lower maintenance costs as compared to hydrocarbon fuel-powered vehicles.
  • It gives better life to lubricating oils, as it does not contaminate and dilute the crankcase oil.
  • It produces less pollution in form of CO2, CO, NOx and SOx as compared to petrol.
  • Compressed Natural Gas has a high auto-ignition temperature of 540 °C or more.
