ACP - Assistant Commissioner of Police


Assistant Commissioner of Police is one of the higher ranks in the Indian Police Services. Assistant Commissioner of Police and Deputy Superintendent of Police, both work at the same rank in police. Both of them carry 3 stars on their Uniforms.

There are 2 ways of getting the rank of an ACP :-

  1. Promotion from the state police cadre after successful completion of 15-20 years of service.
  2. Direct selection through UPSC and are designated as IPS.

In both the ways, the Minimum qualification is graduation in any subject.
