NEET stands for National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test. It is a national level common entrance exam which is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for admission to medical colleges in India. The students who wish to study undergraduate medical courses like MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, etc., have to appear and pass the NEET.

NEET is of two types; NEET-UG and NEET-PG. NEET-UG is for the students who wish to study undergraduate medical courses like MBBS, BDS, and NEET-PG is for the medical graduates who want to study postgraduate medical courses like MD and MS.

NEET has replaced the All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT) and the other medical entrance exams conducted by the states or individual colleges. It has saved the time, energy, and money of the students as earlier they had to fill different forms for different medical entrance exams in India.
