iOS - iPhone Operating System (original name)

Apple iOS is Apple's proprietary operating system for its smartphones and related devices. The first version of Apple iOS was released on July 29, 2007. It was the mobile operating system of its then launched smartphone "iPhone", from whom the operating system got its name.

Today, the latest version of iOS is found in most of the Apple's devices including: iPhone, iPad, iPod, and Apple TV. Apple's app store has more than 1 million apps that runs on iOS devices.

Apple provides frequent updates for its iOS users. It is the 2nd most popular operating system for smartphones after android.
